Introduction
Working closely with our delivery partner Conception X, we help PhD students transform their science breakthroughs into investable deeptech startups. Since launching the TIC Venture Programme in 2023, we’ve supported 35 PhD-led teams to launch deeptech ventures based on their research, creating 9 new companies that have already raised early-stage investments and grants.

What is it?
The UK’s leading cross-university PhD deeptech venture programme, which offers a combination of entrepreneurship training, exclusive networking opportunities with industry experts, coaching, introductions to investors, and more.

How it works
Our programme is mostly virtual, with some events in London, and designed to fit the intensive research schedules of PhD students. It lasts 9 months, March-November.

Who is it for
To be eligible for the Venture Programme, students must:
Be registered as PhD candidates at a university at the time of application. (University of Manchester based for TIC funding)
Be working on an innovative technology based on their research
Be able to commit to the full length of the programme
