Are you part of the Turing Institute?
No. The Turing Innovation Catalyst is an Innovate Funded Programme based at the University of Manchester. The Alan Turing Institute is a national institute for data science and artificial intelligence.
Can anybody apply to your programmes?
We here at TIC are focussed on supporting the growth of AI in GM, and specifically we offer hands on practical support for early stage companies
Do you give out any funding?
TIC provides a range of support to early stage companies including our accelerator programme and collaborative R&D. At this stage we do not have any grants available.

How is TIC funded?
TIC is a not-for-profit and is part of the Innovation Accelerator programme, led by Innovate UK on behalf of UK Research and Innovation and the Department for Science and Innovation (DSIT).

Our work at TIC is about providing hands-on practical support to early stage companies. We don't offer individual training courses, but you can sign up to our mailing list to find out about our AI ecosystem focused events and opportunities.

I’m not a student at UoM, can I still apply to TIC?
Each of our programmes has entry criteria, which you can see under each programme category and in the programme specific FAQs.
I’m not based in Greater Manchester, can I still apply to your programmes?
Participants in TIC programmes need to be based, or planning to be based in Greater Manchester.
Is TIC part of the University of Manchester?
TIC is being incubated within the University of Manchester, giving us access to a variety of leading experts, resources, research capabilities and national and international connections.
What size of businesses do you support?
We are excited to engage with companies of all sizes that align with our mission and vision, but our main goal is to provide practical support to help early stage companies take their first steps. Our programmes are designed for startups and SMEs and provide early stage companies with hands-on practical support.
